Make Avocado Tzatziki Dip (or sauce) from home that you can use as a dip for pita and veggies, or as a fantastic spreader for sandwiches or gyros. This dip, which makes about 2 cups, goes really far and is a delicious alternative to traditional and classic tzatziki dip but with the delicious flavors of avocado.

Avocado Tzatziki Dip Recipe (1)

Personally I believe avocado is one of the worlds greatest ingredients.

You can eat it alone, on toast, in salads, in tacos – it acts as a topping, is an amazing way to get good fats, and is just so dang delicious!

If you follow my blog at all (or even on Pinterest for recipe ideas), you know that I love to share dip recipes.

Recently I made tzatziki sauce, which is probably one of my favorite dips ever, and I wanted to share another way to make easy tzatziki dip (or sauce) but using avocados (Trader Joe’s also make a great avocado tzatziki dip!).

This dip is a delightful pretty green avocado hue and if you have a food processor, takes no time at all to whip up.

WHAT TO EAT WITH AVOCADO TZATZIKI

  • Pita Bread – Just like with hummus, tzatziki is a great with traditional dippers like pita bread
  • Chips –There is a reason that chips come in so many flavors. Try regular potato chip, garlic chips or even make your own homemade tortilla chips.
  • Chicken – Make some skewers with chicken and put avocado tzatziki on the side to dip
  • Sandwiches – No matter the meat (lamb, beef, chicken), Tzatziki works as a great alternative to other condiments and is full of flavor and a perfect sauce to spread on a sandwich with veggies
  • Dip in Raw Veggies Veggies on veggies, yes! Try carrot and celery sticks!

STORAGE OF DIPS WITH AVOCADO IN THEM

Anything that uses avocado typically oxidizes the avocado after about a day and turns the top exposed to the air brown. While not appetizing to look at, still tastes the same.

Nonetheless, because avocados do not look so pretty after they have been cut, I encourage you to make and enjoy at the same time over storing.
