This is where my home was in #Jamaica and where all of my family are. Treasure Beach is a sleepy fishing village, and the parish of St. Elizabeth is considered the “Breadbasket of Jamaica”… all fishing and farming. Hurricane Beryl affected 95% of the homes in my village of TB. But the farmers are all suffering catastrophic losses as well. Treasure Beach is without power, water and many still have no cell service a week later. This becomes a medical crisis with poor sanitation and no clean drinking water or access to food.I have still not found my best friend Coot either.. thanks to those who continue to call and send prayers. It is hard to keep hope after a week.There are many fundraisers taking place to help this poor community try to recover. They will not without help. There are many GoFundMe campaigns which I cannot vet or support, but I do support these three foundations that do put every dollar to helping these poor people in need. This is the devastation in my family’s community, Treasure Beach Jamaica. The damage is catastrophic, and there will be no power or water restored for weeks.
